I've had a random night tonight...
It all started off innocently enough with an offer for free beef stew at my friend's house. Which I gladly accepted. Then my friend and I went into Princeton for some coffee. There she ran into some friends, who I must say at first glance I was little afraid of. They were goth type people and one of them was wearing a gas mask. Next thing I know we are in the basement of one kid's house listening to their band play. It sounded alot like demonic Nintendo music, not really my thing but they sounded pretty tight. They said that my demonic Nintendo comment was the best compliment their band has ever gotten! Turns out they were pretty cool people, so I guess tonight had one of those never judge a book by its cover morals.

So how was your Saturday?

4. Your day sounds more exciting than mine........
I spent the day chopping wood from the fallen trees on my property. I felt powerful with my axe.

8. I like creepy movies.
Too bad my husband doesn't - I can never get him to go see things like The Grudge!

7. I had people over for dinner.
It was okay.

I guess I like them well enough, this couple, but if they were not colleagues of my husband's, I doubt we'd socialize. They didn't say so, but through things I gleaned from conversation, I'm pretty sure they are conservatives or at least right leaning. I don't feel like we have much in common.

The husband does not like vegetables or sweets (so there went the basil-sesame green beans I made, and the almond streusel apple pie I made from scratch). He doesn't like coffee, so I refrained from making any for my husband and myself. Good thing he likes roast beef and fresh garlic mashed potatoes.

There was a lot of shop talk. My kids stayed up too late.

Your random night sounds like a lot of fun.

13. Pie and coffee is one of the most perfect
combos there is, isn't it? (Overpriced coffee is one of my great weaknesses.)

My 17-year-old daughter and a few of her friends went out tonight, and I left the rest of the pie out for them. They'll have to make their own coffee, though, 'cause I'll probably hit the sack soon.

14. Couldn't agree more...
I'm so excited for Thanksgiving because it is the national pie holiday...the turkey has its place but to me, pie is the real star!
