'Master and Commander' = DEPRESSING
Honestly, I didn't know it was going to be this depressing! All these cool people dying, I've had enough of it, ya hear? I've had it up to HERE with this depressing movie!

Death, death, death, and always the best characters.

Now I have to watch some mindless eye-candy, 'The Matrix Revolutions', just to lift my f'n sunk (no pun intended) spirits!

2. Good movie, but I have no interest in seeing
it twice. The lives of children were especially brutal. No thanks.

3. Actually I adored the film--
and got sucked into the emotions of it, especially the subplot with the Captain refusing to let his friend the Doctor go ashore at the Galapagos so he can pursue the pirateers, then relenting when the Doctor is apparently dying, etc. etc. Two hankies and a half bottle of Shiraz.

Seriously, you may be so upset over the deaths only because the movie is so good--the characters are complex and real, and you get deeply involved with them as though you know them.

4. Agreed. The film is done well enough that you
actually care about each character.

That's pretty rare.
