Tihs is so cool
Subject: The paomnnehil pweor of the hmuan mnid

The paomnnehil pweor of the hmuan mnid.

Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in
waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoetnt tihng is taht the
frist and lsat ltteer be at the rghit pclae. The rset can be a total mses
and you can sitll raed it wouthit porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid
deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe.

Bolody amzanig huh?

Received in email today. Thought I'd share for those who criticize my typing/spelling

Is there a geek term for misspelling or typos that you ignore because the mistake is obvious and you know what the typist meant? I have a lousy keyboard and my eyesight is getting lousy so I constantly hit two keys when I mean to hit one or reverse letters inadvertently and don't notice until the post is posted.

It seems most folks are tolerant of this but occasionally I get critiqued or even flamed for being a bad speller or just lazy.

I admit that things move fast here and my time is tight so I rush --- but I wonder if the above phenomenon explains why people mostly hardly notice it?

Thoughts?

5. Does anyone a link for this?
Edited on Wed Sep-17-03 10:46 AM by RobertSeattle
My BS detector goes off on anyting that begins with "According to XYZ..."

Here's a url regarding the gist of this:
http://abcnews.go.com/sections/science/DailyNews/speechreverse990428.html

But I think the "according to cambridge" is now into urban legend. Someone took an idea an ran with it. If you do a web search for "Elingsh uinervtisy" or "Cmabrigde Uinervtisy" this all started in the past couple of days - it's quite a meme.

Indeterminate.

Thank the gods we don't have to rely on British Intelligence for this one!
