Does anyone know what caused her to switch sides?

1. When her husband came out of the closet

after losing his Congressional re-election bid and she no longer had her "salon" in Georgetown from which to pitch her right-wing ideas, she conveniently became a Democrat.

Or something akin to that.

She's nothing but a fraud. And a mightily annoying one at that.

2. She wanted the regressives to put up money for the poor

they refused. You can read about it on her site. There's a message board too that I used to frequent but it's been infiltrated by nutcases.

She believed all the crap that the repubs used to say how they were going to help the poor and that gov't shouldn't help. After 1994 she tried to get money donated to help social services and she found out it was all bullshit

but I don't trust her as far as I could theoretically throw her.

I suspect it wouldn't take much to swing her back in the other direction.

but with arianna -- who i like and think she has had some very cogent things to say -- she will always gun for a new fight and may well turn her sights on liberals if she thinks it a good idea, either for personal reasons or real ones.
