Who thinks Harrison should have jammed a guitar neck in Clapton's heart
Just for Clapton being such a stinking arrogant overinflated suckwad?

7. LOL! That would be wondrous
Sure as hell ain't gonna be high-and-mighty-sir-shithead Paul who would have the cajones to eviscerate that miserable wanker.

McCartney might be due a bit of artistic punishment himself.

10. When I'm president of the United States, part of my "Bring Culture to the
American People" program will include a live concert, perhaps from the Rose Garden, in which Townsend, Lifeson, Jimmy Page, Beck, Vai, Gilmore, and some others will all play together with Clapton, but during the "Layla" solo, when Clapton is self-righteously and smugly noodling intolerably, the other guitarists will beat the hell out of him with their axes.

President Rabrrrrrr and his Cabinet and a small group of select,specially-invited DUers will stand and scream and applaud loudly with much jubilation.

And then we'll catapult N'Stink, Brittney, Beyonce, and Destiny's Child into the Potomac.

WOO HOO!!

Then after he's a bloody pulp, but still alive enough to listen, they'll yell "Now this is how you play the fuckin' blues!" and they'll JAM JAM JAM! Clapton will just lay there, in a fetal position, crying, while the crowd whips his old records at him like frisbees of razor-edged death.

You can be in the compare-and-contrast section. They'll all play and say "This is how it's done properly". Then you can play, and they'll say "And this is what you sound like. Shitbrain."

26. Actually, I play mostly nylon string now, so I can do a mock version
of one of his acoustic tunes. Then I'll play a Robert Johnson tune, adding in a bit of polyphony/counterpoint, set down my cheap guitar (I'm too poor to own an expensive instrument), walk over and pick up his $10,000 Ramirez and break it over his head. How does that sound?

"TWANG!"

Nail him with his own guitar. he's already done it great dishonor by not allowing it to be owned and played by someone who gives a shit. Might as well show the ax some honor and let it kill the idiot.

If only I had one hour to play some Bach and Villa-Lobos, or at least some Bossa Nova... I would likely just grab his guitar and help it escape to freedome to Brasil... Aiiiii!!!! A gente for junto muito rápido ao aeroporto e voar até á liberdade no Rio!

The passing of his son is very sad. It also led to one of the saddest songs ever like Clapton or not. The Unplugged version of Layla I think is much better because it is shorter.

If you use Photoshop (I use 3.0... I know it's old, but I'm unemployed and can barely pay for my textbooks): try the radial blur filter, zoom setting, then adjust for desired effect. Have fun.:)

Who cares about that.

it's about Harrison having umpteen gazillion times more talent than Clapton, and Clapton being a self-absorbed, self-glorifying putz.

Eric is one of the major talents of our lifetime. As to whether he's self-absorbed, self-glorifying i see no hint of that. Maybe in his drug days he was who knows. I'm sure he's no saint, but who among us is?

44. Eric is a whore...
He shows up to the opening of a bottle! I'm sick of his "guest appearances" on every second album that comes out, where all he does is wank the same identical ugly guitar solo as he has 10,000 times before. The man has all the passion of a calculator from the 99 Cents Only store. "Tears In Heaven" is ghoulish and exploitative, and only about 1% better than Kenny G.'s most soulful efforts.

Methinks you are failing to put Clapton's early playing in the proper context. He was, at the time, doing what nobody else was doing. To view his contributions through the prism of today's guitar vocabulary is just wrong. And, this is coming from a giant George fan.
