3. I think that he has been dead for some days now, but kept alive
on life support. Apparently the PLO is trying to find his money, fighting with his wife over who has control, and generally trying to figure out a plan for how to deal with the chaos that will follow the announcement of his death.

I think they are fighting for time. I don't think that Arafat is still living in any human sense of the term.

10. He missed out on peace
Arafat was a remarkable leader in so many ways. There was really no Palestinian national movement before him. But in the end, I'm afraid he couldn't take that final step toward peace. I realize that it takes two to make peace and that Israel is also at fault. But when the Palestinian people needed a statesman, Arafat failed them.
