Appendix Removed During Wrist Surgery

A YOUNG man in central Iran found his healthy appendix removed after waking up from what was supposed to have been wrist surgery, the Aftab newspaper reported.

The paper quoted the father of Majid Karimi, 19, as saying that he brought his son to one of Arak's hospitals to have a needle stuck in his wrist removed.

Following an X-ray and operation, the young man was surprised to discover that surgeons had not touched his wrist and had instead cut out his trouble-free appendix.
