I am having a delayed grief reaction. Stayed home today
I had to because I cried and cried on the phone to a friend last night, so my eyes were swollen today. It's the first time I've cried over this. I had just watched Keith Olbermann's report about voter fraud and I kept bellowing over and over to my friend, "He's got to unconcede, he got to unconcede!".

I can't believe the depth of my anger, misery and frustration. I haven't watched TV for a week because I can't take the gloating and hyperbole. I thought I was completely prepared for the possibility of losing the Presidency, but the loss of more Senate seats sent me over the top.

I feel like an orphan.

2. You are not alone.
I have found out several of my friends voted for Bush and I cannot even tolerate being in the same room with them. (They don't know this).

I cannot believe the media gets aways with all their shit and that 50% of America puts up with it...especially the democrats in power.

It's been a sad time for me also!

6. Exact same for me. I can't even stand to be in the same room
with freeper coworkers whom I could actually stand before the election. I find myself wishing that their 18-yr-olds get shipped off to war, their gas prices go through the roof, their household economy crumbles, etc. They also don't know how I feel, obviously. And I feel somewhat guilty for feeling that way, because these are people whom I generally got along with all right. Now, I wish they were all in a hell of their own making.

15. Yep...I do feel a little guilty..tonight the Country Music Awards are
coming on and usually I LOVE them. They are being hosted by Brooks and Dunn....God they NOW make me sick. And Tobey, god I have one friend that can't stop talking about him. My husband saw him on TV with the Bush crowd. I hope I can make it thru the award show, my husband and I have always enjoyed it.

He says, "it's over,(the election) get over it"...well, I canot get over it.

Neither can he but he won't admit it.

We WILL get thru this.

7. Thank you, you're all so sweet. DU is such a comfort

I know I'll buck up, but I guess I've got to go through all the stages. All American politics are based on the "sudden death" system, but I find it hard to cope with the fact that our candidates vanished overnight.

11. Just remember there are 50+ million of us
Big media want us to feel like everyone has jumped on the Happy Bigot Bandwagon, but No, siree, there are SO MANY OF US who feel the exact same way. Please think of us when you get down.

12. Last week I was...
violently ill. Had to take off 2 days. But everywhere I go, folks are joined in the grief. Went to a pastor's conference (don't worry, we're all liberals), and all of us were one in our great disappointment. And prayer and consolation were everywhere.
Please don't paint all religious and spiritual folks with the tar brush of the narrow evangelicals. Some evangelicals are liberal, progressive and are all on board with the DU.

13. It's maddening.
It's bizarre how everyone around me is acting so freaking normal. I think I've dragged myself out of the worst part of grief, but in the eyes of my friends, family, and coworkers, I seem to have become a lonely, shunned wacko who can't move on.

I've tried my best to talk to everyone I know about the voting issue. I've been calm and rational. I've avoided using the term "fraud" and I've avoided making it about Kerry. I've sent them eloquent, concise emails emails citing specific examples of vote discrepancies, and now, they all think I am insane. It's just a "conspiracy theory" to them. Even to the liberals. I'm desperate for them to understand how important this is, but they refuse.

If it wasn't for DU, I would probably think I really am just a wacko. :grouphug:

14. I feel your pain
I cried a lot last Wednesday and have since been feeling rage and helplessness and occasional numbness. I just signed up here hoping that it might help me cope a bit better. In the end, I know I will not just lie down and "get over it". Stay active. We're all in this together.
