I'm eating the best apple I've ever had.
It's a "Honeycrisp" apple. Developed at the University of Minnesota, now grown all over the place including New York and Washington State. Only available for a short time each fall, so get some while you can.

5. I have never seen that variety
Is it available in Florida? I prefer MacIntosh and Cortland. How does this one compare? I am an avid apple lover and always willing to try something new. I just HATE red delicious. They suck soooooo bad.

7. I got them here in Georgia.
Publix and Kroger have 'em here.

I think they're better than Macs and Cortlands. Very nice balance of sweetness and tart. "Snappy" too.

9. honeycrisps are delicious!
Crunchy, sweet, tart, and juicy, with a nice winy taste. Good keepers.

One of the very best varieties, IMO. Primo eatin' apple.

11. But can you cook with them?
See, I like the Gala, the apple that can be eaten out of hand or sliced into a pie.

Don't want to dis the Honeycrisp, just defending my fave.

16. Nope, not true
Go to the apple hill area in California and have an apple from there and you'll quickly change your tune.

19. Ooo, yum those are good
Honeycrisps are really good, but pricey -- about $1.99/lb at Cub right now.

I also like Connell Reds and Haralsons.
