here's mine:

7"s - 68
9"s - 1
10"s - 7
12"s - 49
total diameter of all my records: 1143
average record size diameter: 9.144"
total area of records (taking 2 one sided 7"s and one one sided 12" into account): 2052801 sq. ins.

now if only I knew the thickness I could calculate volume, and if I had weight stats I'd calculate that as well..

1. My own #s are rational, but here are my husband's

He seriously has 30,000 7"s, albums, CDs and tapes. I kid you not. It spans everything from early jazz/blues 78s to current stuff.

He is a walking, talking encyclopedia of musical knowledge. He's one of those people who can offer that really annoying trivia that you didn't need to hear at a party - you know what I mean. Please don't ask me to calculate the volume :-)

(We live in a condo, but we have two storage lockers, BTW. And everything is alphabetized and climate-controlled.)

Covering a little bit of everything from the 1930s to the 1990s. Mostly 50s doo-wop and 60s rock-n-roll and Motown.

3. I had about a thousand LPs at one time...

Sold a bunch as I collected CDs starting in the mid-eighties. Kept about 300 for the artwork and sentimental value.

Up to around 3000 CDs.
