Ok, something I've always wondered about...

Ya know how the lids on airplane toilets say something like:

Disposal of anything other than toilet tissue may cause leaks/damage that can create a safety hazard.

My question is:

Is there really a hazard, or this hyperbole designed to keep people from creating backed-up pots on their flying port-o-potties?

Could a terrorist or 6 year old bring down a plane by accident?

1. Well, if the loo floods

that'd be a kind of emergency, right? After all, wouldn't there be a biohazard in a confined space?

2. Nope. I've seen flooded loos on planes...

They stink, but unless you're in the back couple of rows there's no hazard.

if someone were ill with an intestinal bug, that could spread during the flood.

on edit: I think you're right about the warning, though. Seemes more intended to prevent women from flushing pads and that kind of thing...
