OK, I held back the tears Wednesday, and during JK's concession, but
this got them going...

I got an email tonight from a (straight) friend; actually, a copy of one he sent to a very wide distribution list on election day.

Subject: I vote to support my friends

Mxxx,

One of the many reasons that I will vote for John Kerry today is to support my friends:

Anne
Kathy
Augie
Scott
Todd
Mark
Sharon
April
Angela
Victor
Jamie
Karla
Lori
Sue
Jenny
David
Bill
Carlene
Michele
Lara
Darlene
Annie
Molly
Karen
Pam
Deloris
Trista
Erin
Carol
Janet

I am truly blessed to have these people in my life; my life is more complete because of them.

These are the names of my gay and lesbian friends.

Mr. Bush wants my friends to deny their nature, conform to his view of the world that they must be in relationships of one man and one woman in order to be accorded all the rights that you and I enjoy in our relationships with Angela and Irene.

He wants to create an amendment to the constitution that legalizes discrimination towards my friends, before the last election someone mentioned to me that it is important to vote for Al Gore since Mathew Sheppard could not, how true that has become.

Mr. Bush wants to marginalize my friends, I can not stand by silently, it is wrong and it further divides our great nation.

Thoughtfully,

Dxxx

2. This is the second time I cried
The first time is when NPR played "Fanfare for the Common Man" and the announcer said he hoped we didn't forget that we are all the Common Man.
