what C.H.U.D. really stood for?

I remember watchign that movie and it turned out CHUD was an acronym for the chemical than changed people into those things, but I forgot what it was.

In the movie the people who went into the sewers to go kill the things came across some barrels that had C.H.U.D. written on them, and it had different words for the name of the chemical in those barrels.

That is what turned normal people into CHUDs.
