We just moved here and got a new number. Immediately I started getting multiple phone calls, usually two a day, asking for a "Pamela Carson" to call ARS blah blah blah at 800-xxx-xxxx.
On 10/25 I called, told them no such person lived here and to stop calling us. We're still getting them. Today we got another one so I called and told the guy who answered the phone that Pamela Carson did not live here, we had already complained about this once and they were still harassing us. I said that if they didn't stop calling here I would file a complaint with the FCC against the company.
Do you know what the asshole's response was? "Well do you feel better now that you've threatened me?"
I said, "Jay I'm not threatening you, I'm telling you what action I will take against your company if these harassing phone calls continue."
Jay said, "They're not harassing."
I said, "When I receive automated phone calls several times a day for someone who does not live here and you don't remove us from your list, those calls become harassment."
He mumbled that he would look into it but I somehow don't think he was sincere. Was I talking out my ass? What CAN I do? I've logged the dates I called to have them stop doing this but if this doesn't stop I'm guessing we'll have to get a new number.
I've already registered our number with donotcall.gov but it takes 90 days to get into effect and if these calls are (as I suspect) from some sort of collection agency, they aren't considered solicitation.
Help?!
