As for me
I am disappointed along with many of you, but for some reason I am more relaxed about all this than I thought I would be. I keep thinking of what is about to come in the near future (hopefully).
I can only hope that people will rise up and make their voices heard twice as loud these next four years. I can only hope that we don't feel too beat up and give up the momentum we have built up in the last few years. I can only hope that this past election has shown us that we have to work even harder at getting to where we need to get to.
I have been disappointed like this when Reagen won, bush 1 won and bush 2 was handed the throne. Each time it has felt like I was kicked in the stomach. During the Reagan/bush years I thought it was all over. We were going to blow to hell and my country was lost forever. Then along came Bill and things got better. It was a hell of a fight during his 8 years, but some change was made and it felt good. That can happen again. It will happen again, but we have to fight for it.
As I said yesterday, it's not easy being a liberal. It's a lot of work and it doesn't get easier, but it's the price you pay for wanting peace, and having compassion. Even the Jesus that the repugs use for their filth told us that it will not be easy for our kind. And he was correct, it isn't.
So, please make your mourning quick and let's start regrouping. We need all of us and more to take it back...and we will. I promise.
As the shrub slurred "Bring it on"
