Had to remember I am a survivor.....

I've survived HIV for 19 years.
I've survived growing up poor.
I've survived a society a that treats me like an outcast.

And I always do okay.

I am still the same person who told my own mother that if she couldn't accept me for who I am I'd cut her out of my life so fast it would make her head spin.

I don't handle disappointments well, but I survive....and I come back stronger.

Sometimes I wonder if I will ever be beaten by the fight. And there are times when I feel that I have no more left in me. But, like my hope, my spirit has yet to be broken.

My mother tells me that I came out screaming and I have never stopped. I cried and licked my wounds today. However, I will be screaming again tomorrow!

A fantastic example of a survivor! :hug: We'll all come back stronger from this ... we have to.

I hope your mom decided to accept you for who you are. I could never "disown" one of my children for ANYTHING ... I tell them everyday that I love them no matter what and it's a promise I'll easily keep forever. I can't imagine a parent denying their own child ... although, sadly, I know it happens.
