What happened here last night? What kind of attack was that?

I came on after the bad news had become more apparent...later at night...and this place was upside down.

Every single thread was planted BS....gloating insultive stuff posted by people with user names that obviously identified them as hostile posters.

The odd thing was that there were several responses in many of these threads, all gloating and knocking us noble liberals.

It was as if a hacker had placed a whole pile of pre-made threads onto the page and taken control away fromt he mods.

Was it just an influx of new posters? I don't think so, because they're not allowed to post topics right away and these folks had obvious troll names intended to taunt.
Either DU was taken over or some kind of virus/bot slapped up a whole wack of pre-written topics at once.

4. that's what I've been asking too....

The trolling last night was VERY weird-- not a bunch of sophmoric freeper crowing but MANY MANY subtle disruptions that all sounded like they were cut from the same cloth, but came from dozens of different user names that were obvious plants. It really seemed more like one person (or a small few) posting under all those names than like dozens of different disruptors-- there was just too much similarity of approach. Very strange night.

The usernames were so far out that they wouldn't have lasted to make enough posts to have permission to post a thread.

Not to mention that people have said they all got emails from a long-time poster telling them (among other disgusting evil-minded crap) that they were FREEPED.

Nobody with a name like these would last here...even with the relative tolerance of this place compared to freepukeland.

Looking at the latest posts, it was like the last 20-30 topics...every single one of them...were stupid taunts complete with multiple responses.

I can't remember any of the names. I just remember the nature of them. They were akin to something like "dems_are_dumb" or "libsRhomos"

It's equal parts idle curiosity on my part plus a strong desire to see such losers put into the "Hall of Shame".

I was expecting something, but that wasn't it. It was just weird, but also a complete waste of time on their part because we're still here, supporting each other and our liberal ideals. So, whatever they thought they were doing.. well, I don't really know what they were doing.
