I vacillate from fury to tears .
I hate my state, (Texas) my fundie family, and my party. Thanksgiving and Christmas are going to be dangerous. I don’t think I can keep my emotions in check, same thing goes for my husband. As a democrat in the bible belt I feel isolated from sanity. DU is the only life raft I have to get me through this hell that is my life here.
Thanks to all of you.

4. I feel for you.
I would hate to be a Dem in the south right now. Im feeling quit hostile toward the south right now. But I do realize we have many good people there, just not enough.

Right now I am vacilliating between secession and secession. I don't see any other way. It will take a radical change or nothing will change at all.

7. Not all that much better in Blue NJ
Surrounded by Bushniks here in the suburbs...and then you get a false sense that maybe the US is so f'ed up and an intelligent good man can win the Presidency.

9. My official party today is the pity party.
Tomorrow may be better but for now I feel inconsolable. The only crumb of comfort is all y’all. Thanks for the shoulder .
Did someone say we need more cat pictures?

10. I do feel worn-out and old inside today.
This sums up what I feel we’ve been through.

If
by rudyard kipling

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master,
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

11. Come to Hawaii
There is a sovereignty movement here and a lot of progressives. Plus palm trees and 80 degree year round weather makes all your problems float away. Come quickly a lot of Alaskan conservatives are snowbirding here and their numbers are increasing.
