Anyone else have a self-imposed tv blackout going on?
I can't turn the TV on anymore, and I don't even live in a remotely battleground state :puke:

4. Yep, me - I'm watching the West Wing marathon
varied by the Food Network and HGTV. Nice calm channels, NO news at all.

The only news I need is here at DU.

8. Well it's not really self-imposed.
Our dish went out and they cannot come out to fix it until Wednesday. Probably a good thing.
I'll just hang out here for my updates.

The weather is shit outside here (Bellingham), so sitting inside is pretty much the only option. The same crap over and over, POLLS POLLS POLLS!!!!!!

13. Jan 2, will be 1 year for almost no TV for me.
I hate TV, and I got rid of cable in Jan 2004. I never put up an antenna to get broadcast, and I absolutely loved being without it. There is so much mindless drivel BS on, that it overwhelms the few good shows which are found almost exclusively on Discovery channel, HGTV, History channel, and TLC.

I occasionally turn it on, but it still averages less than once a week, and more like once every two weeks. I turned it on to watch the conventions, and I will turn it on tomorrow night, but after that it is off, and I won't miss it.

16. I will
I have a lot of movies, A video store and as a hugely Democratic state, we've gone from the 'Oh those Wacky Dems and their Cuh-Razy Cuh-razy Ways' cartoon music backing their 1 minute bullshit fests to 'Get Out Now! The Calls Are Coming Form Inside Your House!' scary music-lot of attacks on local Dems by the 'Anonymous RNC' or Republican Governors' steaming pile of filthy money.

Shut up about your stupid candidate. Oh yeah and if I have to vote 1 more time FOR the goddamn Monorail (3 times now; #4 No means Yes, Assclowns, you lost before. Now STFU!)

I turned of the TV Sept 11, 2001, and have not turned in on since. I have a lot more free time. I'll be on the net watching the results as they roll in.

except for DU of course, for a week. I have not listened to Al Franken or Democracy Now in a week.

Although I have a TV, I don't watch it very often.

24. I watched this brilliant Mo Rocca special on The Hitler Channel
(aka The History Channel)

Mo Rocca (Daily Show alum!) did a brilliant (and hilarious) piece on the seven qualities presidential candidates must have to become President.

One of them was "Have a Dumbass sibling" (heavily paraphrased)... spent a lot of time on Nixon's idiot brother as well as Neil Bush (though most of it was spent on Billy Carter... which was still hilarious though :D)

Gonna light some candles and meditate and yes, pray.
