Silly, irrational fears...do you have any?
I have this morbid fear that while I'm running to catch the El, I'll trip, fall into the train tracks just as the train is pulling up. Splat!

I know this isn't going to happen. But I swear I think about that.

Do you have any silly, irrational fears?

2. Yes, but it's humiliating
~blush~ When I was a little kid, my mother would tell me not to poke my finger in my belly button because it would come untied and my skin would fall off (isn't that a great thing to tell a kid? My mom was great but had some odd moments).

To this day, I am horribly squeamish about my belly button.

6. Hookhand lives in the woods near my house.
If I don't keep body parts at least a foot away from the bathtub drain while it's draining, they'll surely get sucked in. If, gawd forbid, I'm still in the tub when that little whirlpool thingie starts with the slurping noise, I will surely die.

Many, many more.

7. I get really uptight when I drive under
airplanes particularly the small low flying ones. It's a tough fear to have when one lives close to an airport specializing in those types of planes.

I don't think it's necessarily irrational, though - I saw a small plane crash in our neighborhood when I was younger.

8. Odd fear re: telephone conversations
I have this completely ridiculous fear of ending a business phone call with "I love you". So, inevitably, I think to myself "Don't say I love you, don't say I love you", which invariably almost makes me say "I love you". But so far, I haven't slipped up.

I have no idea how this fear came to be.

Mostly.

PS I Love you.

PPS DAMMIT!
