How did the Austin Get Together with Will Pitt go?
I wasn't able to make it. I was with nj2tx working at the polls in North Texas. We spent a VERY long day with lines waiting out the door BEFORE 7 am in the morning. It never let up. At the end of the day, I was turning people away as I was taking down the voting signs outside.

And, for those of y'all who don't know what the hell we're doing having a consitutional amendment election in September for, well JUST IMAGINE why-- so there will be low turnout, of course. That's a story for another day.

Anyway, we did our civic duty and I couldn't make it to Austin to meet Will. I wish I could have, though. :( I'm sure y'all had fun and I want to hear all about it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2. Ah, *sigh*
How I would love to come to Austin today. :)

Now that I'm a full time student, I'm going to class from 9-4 daily and doing homework at night and on the weekends. Hubby barely sees me. I've never had a class schedule like this- not even with my first degree.

I wish I had a life. :(

I wish I could share a margarita with you. Or a beer, or a shot of whatever the hell that was that we drank that night. LOL

HAVE A GREAT TIME!!!!!!! Tell others who come about our Yahoogroup! :)

3. It was AWESOME!
It was definitely worth the 6+ hour roundtrip drive and not getting to bed until just before 2AM!! Will Pitt is everything I expected and an absolutely bona fide passionate and articulate voice of the Democratic Party. Being surrounded by so many caring, intelligent, determined, educated Dems gives me reason to believe that we CAN rise up and defeat Bush next year. Thanks for putting this together, GOPEvil, it was great fun.

4. How many people were there?
I missed yet another DU gathering (#2). x( This time because I was forced to work all weekend on an urgent deadline and so couldn't make the 4-hour round trip drive.

But I really do plan to make it to one of these things eventually.

I want to hear more reports on what I missed. Thanks, TEXASYANKEE. :hi:

5. There was a good turnout.
I would guess that there were ~20 people there. I'm sure I will forget one or two, but here goes:

Will Pitt
GOPisEvil
KCDem
TXLib
Skittles
BlueStatesGuy
SoniaS
Kathee
Bobby (Kathee's son)
El Gato
WatchWhatISay
Efhmc + daughter
VelmaD
SilasSoule

I'm sure that I have (inadvertantly) forgotten a few. Perhaps someone else can jump in and name names. I'm sorry you couldn't make it, Peter. Perhaps I'll meet you at the next gathering.

8. We had a blast...
especially after you so generously handed over your credit card to bankroll the expeditions to the tatto parlor, strip club, and liquor store. ;-)

So, how was the Houston gathering? Dish the dirt.

still can't quite believe I pulled my shirt up and showed 'em off in public. (See what you miss when you leave early people.) And I was the one who did NOT have anything to drink. *blush*

Will's tats were pretty nice too. Yumm...
