Anyone else get hardly any trick or treaters
So I didn't do anything tonight, just watched the Steelers-Patriots game instead, because my friends were busy or didn't return my calls.

1. I had about 40 to 50.

6. Not many.
But that is normal as our town has a growing elderly population and dwindling numbers of school-age kids.

7. I only got one. Never guess what I said: Sorry, we don't have
anything for you....but if we get a new President, maybe I can afford to do so next year!

I'm terrible. Can't help it. OCD with this election.

We only got one knock because our apartment/townhouse rules are that kids are only to knock on doors with the lease office's signs we can put up indicating that we will take trick or treaters.

I don't like Halloween. They make a HUGE deal of it here in York Pa. I find that a bit.....freaky, offputting, and paganistic from people who claim to be such devout Christians.

9. Not too many here
Of course, I read in the paper that a lot of Christians wouldn't be trick or treating because it's the "Lord's Day" and celebrating evil on the Lord's Day would be well.. evil. I never realized that Halloween celebrated evil.

Plus, it was raining, so I'm not sure how much anything had to do with it.

10. None at all here
Not too surprising, as we live on a fairly busy street that's mixed business and residential...probably not enough houses to make it worth trick-or-treaters' time. But of course we always buy some candy just in case...and it usually lasts until Halloween! :-)

12. I only had one
and that was the little girl a couple doors down who knows me. Then later I had three older kids without costumes who just came around for the candy.

Bummer. They have been trying to ruin this holiday for so long, it's sick. I'm new to the neighbourhood here and single but still, there just ain't much soul here.

13. None.
Zero. Zip. Nada. Which is good, because I didn't buy any candy to give out this year. I guess if I actually do get any trick or treaters this evening, I'll give 'em a pack of Ramen noodles - it's about all I have right now! :silly:

19. We had just one group of 4 little kids and their moms.
I usually give away an entire basket of candy. It is a nice evening with a bright moon. It must be that it's on Sunday. All the parents took their kids to trick-or-treat at malls and local festivals on Saturday. I love Halloween but this year is strangely quiet. There is a sense of nervous anticipation. D-Day minus 1.5.

Have eaten WAY too much candy waiting for the expected hordes. The rest will go to the local Kerry office tomorrow.

17. Mrs. Beast & I saw very few
We gave away candy at my mother-in-law's house. The TOT traffic peaked out at about 6:45. Very few this year.

20. that would be me
The industry's/medias's attempt to introduce Halloween over here have apparently failed. While it was pretty big as "the other Carnival" last year, it is almost nonexistent this year.
Ok, somebody thought it would be funny to smear toothpaste on my mailbox (I was broadening my horizon by visiting museums and exhibitions all day, thus unable to react to anyone ringing the bell), but that was it.
The "extra-hot gummy-bears" package survived unopened; as most kids demand money, not accepting sweets or fruits, I have lost any remaining intention to be "nice" in the face of an imported holiday.
