I am so frikken' annoyed
I think we've had a grand total of 15 trick or treaters over the last seven years. I'm talking about sitting outside and watching the whole neighborhood, zilch, squat, zero, nada. In different towns, so they weren't just avoiding us, they weren't there period. What the hell happened to Halloween?

I know Halloween is tomorrow, but everyone says they'll be out today in this town, since tomorrow is Sunday.

1. Last year, I had more than 400 trick or treaters....
This was in the city of Chicago. We get vanloads of kids, dropped off by their mothers.

4. This was in, among other places
Bangor, Maine (where at least 90% of the 15 or so came), Winnemucca, Nevada, and Cordell, Oklahoma.

3. I hear you
Halloween was like a high holiday at my house. We got pillow cases full of candy, fruit, popcorn balls and small change.

We get less than 20 kids now.

7. I've had 3 groups.
I've had to fight my 50 lb Chow Chow just so I could get the door open, get outside, close it before she shoves it open, and give the kiddlins some candy. Of course they're kind of freaked out by then. I'm kind of glad there aren't too many out tonight.

13. hehehe our outside dog fights to get in, and our inside dog
dog fights to get out.

Our inside dog is Alinak a 110 pound Husky/Malamute.

The outside dog is a tiny little dog, infested with fleas (we applied some flea medication) that came to visit Al when she was in heat, now she's pregnant (by another little dog, not Al). She has moved in with us for some reason, sleeping in Al's huge doghouse (which I havent't convinced him to use yet grrrrrr). Man I wish she would go back to her own home.

8. I usually wind up working during trick-or-treating.
I leave a couple of big bowls of candy on the front porch with a note just so my house remains in one piece. So far, so good.

10. We never get any here now..everyone goes to/has partys
We have not had any kids coming here in several years. The town has partys, churches have "harvest" partys, parents have partys at home and the mall stores hand out candy.I saw tons of kids in costumes there last year.People are afraid of kids getting hurt so alot are very careful.

15. Kids are trick or treating tonight????
Not here. I usually get 30 or so. We usually turn out the lights by 9 or so. Theres a few neighborhoods in town where all the kids go. They get many hundreds of trick or treaters. It's a huge party on those streets. The other neighborhoods, like ours, get the little neighborhood kids :bounce: while the pre-teens head the party neighborhoods.
