Chefs 'n' cooks: Have you tried Maldon salt from England?

I have recently discovered this sea salt from England. It's delicious, totally different from table salt! That is all. Thank you.

1. Spring for the Fleur de Sel from the Ise de Re in France
I poo-poo'd all those articles and people who told me about Fleur de Sel...until I tried some myself. Wow! On fresh veggies, especially corn on the cob, there's nothing else like it. It's expensive, but I don't use it often or a lot of it.

2. I must try it
That's how I found Maldon, people raved about it and I said "salt? no way"...I use it exclusively at the table now. I use the iodized table stuff to cook pasta or whatever but always sea salt at the table. I will look for Fleur de sel...thanks~!

3. Williams-Sonoma carries it, but they're GOP donors, I believe.
Try Whole Foods, also, or order online.

4. You must read "Salt" by Kurlansky -
Unbelievable that this substance was THE most coveted material in ALL of world history until about 100 years ago. His last chapter deals with the latest mini-trend in artisan salts like the ones mentioned in these posts.

I higly recommend this book for fascinating non-fiction reading.

5. I believe people were paid in salt at once time!

The word "salary" evolves from the word for salt!

P.S. on edit, thanks for the tip!
