17. Agreed!
Saw them live several times. Hall & the Hoppen Bros. are a talented bunch.

One gimmick that amazes me to this day was that during their shows they would switch instruments for a couple of numbers without missing a lick.

Don't know too many bands that could pull that off!

16. what is the beef between her and Ani DiFranco?
Edited on Sat Oct-30-04 10:52 PM by jdjkkse
she is the subject of the lyric "now come on and get out there and pick a fight with the police/we'll get it on film, for the new release"

and I suspect she's also the subject of the song "Everyone is a Fucking Napoleon" as well.

"and i hope that you are happy
i hope at least you are having fun
'cuz but everyone is a fucking napoleon
yeah everyone is a fucking napoleon

now you think, so that is
the way it's gonna be
that's what this is all about
i think that that is
the way it always was
you chose not to notice until now
yeah now that there's a problem
you call me up to confide
and you go on for over an hour
'bout each one that took you for a ride

and i guess that you dialed my number
'cuz you thought for sure that i'd agree
i said baby, you know i still love you
but how dare you complain to me

everyone is a fucking napoleon
yeah everyone is a fucking napoleon"

22. I think Ani always controlled all her own music.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's the difference.

Sure, they were incredibly cheesy, but there was a hell of a lot of songwriting talent there.

13. Rush
People think of them as some unemotional sci-fi synthesizer group, but they've made some of the most beautiful music ever. Rush is my favorite band by a long shot.

14. Jeremy Kittle
Edited on Sat Oct-30-04 10:52 PM by Lefty48197
This young red haired kid from Saline, MI plays the fiddle. He's a composer and a very talented showman. He plays sort of a Celtic jazz fiddle kind of music. I think he created his own genre.

If you like to listen to different varieties of music, then I would highly recommend trying this guy's music. The second link has some samples.

15. Eugene Record
A very talented and soulful singer/songwriter, Eugene Record was the creative driving force behind the 1970s soul group, the Chi-Lites. Record both wrote and sang lead on such classics as "Have You Seen Her," "Oh Girl," "Letter To Myself," "Toby," "Stoned Out Of My Mind," and "(For God's Sake) Give More Power To The People." It's beyond me why this man never attained the respect given to other singer/songwriters of that era--James Taylor and Jim Croce, for example.
