8. Thanks,
normally I can handle my own. But hook me up on this one point. Why doesn't the Kerry tax plan negatively affect small businesses? Economy/Jobs is not my strong suit. Thanks!

13. Stick to health care expenses
Small business owners cannot afford health care today, even with bush's massive tax cuts.

And when the freepers talk about small business owners, they are including business 'owners' who sell stuff on ebay and those, like * who own an interest in a company, like a lumber business :). So pin the freeper down - get him to define small business.

14. Thanks,
I did talk about how the Republican definition includes GWB, and his "small business" is so darn important to him, he doesn't know it exists.

15. Why do think that it will have a negative impact?
You don't think tax cuts for the wealthy have a negative impact on the economy and on small businesses? How about a trickle up theory for a change? Besides, GWB's idea of a "small business" isn't quite the same as mine.

This is standard fare, btw.

16. I don't think
that it will, I was merely asking for good sound bites and actual numbers to dispute them. And no, his definition of "small business" isn't the same as mine either. ;)

19. you got four responses to your question between the time
Edited on Sat Oct-30-04 09:51 PM by 101er
you posted the original thread and the time you posted this one - You haven't been here long enough to know that that is a pretty good response time to your question. And, you didn't respond to any of the posts before throwing this one out - how can you say you weren't getting a response?

On edit: Contrary to what you may have heard, DUers know how to read.

I messed up, ok? I'm not a freeper, I'm a democrat. I am well aware that DUers know how to read. I won't bother to ask for help again. I was under the impression that this was a friendly bunch who would happily help me out. Wrong again I guess.

21. Who called you a freeper?
I made no such accusation. I'm just curious as to why you feel compelled to post similar threads without waiting for a response. It's not something I would do is all. And, since you are a lawyer, i thought you would be well suited to doing your own research rather than rely on the thoughts of others...that's all.

23. all right,
The reason I posted originally is because I wanted to quickly respond to the idiot I was debating. Yes I can find my own facts, I was looking for a quicker/easier way to do it and figured I could ask a group of informed intelligent people for help. In the future I will not use this forum for that purpose. Lesson learned, thanks for the hints.

What I don't understand is why the fact that I screwed up and posted twice is such a big deal. That's why I pointed out that I wasn't a freeper. I was concerned that you thought I was an internet troll. Glad that's not the case. As for the double post, my computer was having issues and I didn't think the second post even went through. I'm sorry for the fact that it did. Anyway, all's well that ends well, I of course, ate her alive.

Look, I never made an accusation, but you seem to be very defensive...just let it go and move on - come Tuesday, the wheat will be separated and all will be good...Now, go to JohnKerry.com and do some reading and go defend yourself against the freepers of the world.

27. Aw come on... You're not really considering one poster's response
to be a standard for everyone here (though I totally understand her trepidation) are you? You must understand that we are all a little on edge here, and there ARE a lot of new members who have turned out to be trolls. It does seem a little odd to me that you are asking advice about something so simple, when, given your profession, you would think you would have the facts yourself.

You can definitely use this forum for quick facts and background on issues, but you must also understand that three days before the most important election of our lives, the suspicion is a bit high.

Glad that you ate her alive!

that's why I said I wasn't. Anyway, it's all over now. Wasn't long before her witty comebacks consisted of "Oh." Ouch, that hurts! :eyes: As far as the other poster, all is good. I took it personally and shouldn't have. I'm a bit on edge myself.

24. Right
If you are debating online, there's no point in not having urls to point to Kerry's plan. You are trying to convince him that Kerry's plan is beneficial , right?

Anyway, for what its worth, I am one small business owner (2 employees) who is counting on Kerry to win, otherwise I'll be struggling for the next four years like the last 2 years (I started this business in 2002).

I am counting on his tax credit for my giving health coverage to my employees and I am positive that we can get coverage cheaper under Kerry's plan than we can right now.

I am counting on him increasing the minimum wage so that more people will have spare money to spend on their pets.

I am counting on the rich paying their fair share so that the deficit doesn't keep rising and pushing interest rates higher, since I am financing my business with credit cards like lots of other small business owners out there.
