So, the Prophetess and I are out trying to get breakfast, and her car is almost out of gas, and we're trying to find a gas station. The only thing around in sight is a Sam's Club. We really don't have a choice, so we go in, and she asks some of the people at other pumps whether we can just have them scan their card so we can get gas-we don't know whether we have enough to find a station, and there are no other stations in sight at all. The Prophetes talks the woman next to us, whose answer is maybe there is another station somewhere. After having the situation repeated to her, again, all she can come up with is maybe there's another station nearby. ( I did notice, with no surprise, that she had a big W sticker on her SUV) We also get the same treatment from the guy running the pump. The thing that burns me up is, to simply scan the Sam's club card would cost NOTHING. WE would be paing for the gas, but Dubyaheads are so wrapped up in their personal responsibility fetish that any request for help is seen as welfare. What if we took off trying to find a gas station and ran out? I'm sure we wouldn't be able to count on them for help at that point. The thing is, there's people that will look at this and sa that it should teach a lesson, but really, what ever did happen to helping people out if the need it and it costs ou nothing? It's not like we were trying to steal or bum mone. Wh equate it, as the Dubyahead did?
