Eminem's new anti-bush song...
www.vh1.com/news/articles/1493010/20041025/eminem.jhtml?headlines=true

As a 21 year old college student, I never really liked Eminem's music, yes he has great flow as a rapper, but I just think his lyrics are petty and ignorant. But this is different, the video is actually pretty good and the lyrics are quite critical of President Bush and the war.

2. As a [cough] older [only a few years on MnM] poet....

I've told people that Eminem is an amazing master of the vernacular; an eloquent user of "words" in the format he chooses (rap). I am then told, "have you HEARD what he SAYS in his songs?" Answer: "yes, I have." In some ways, I have begun to hear him as playback; what I mean by that is he simply reflects cultural standards that are (all things considered) not so great.

Keep in mind, the first time I ever heard him I wanted to smack him senseless and tell him he was OH SO WRONG AND HERE IS WHY. Then I listened again (and again), and kind of got this vibe I can't really explain. I think he's making fun of EVERYTHING that is stupid, mindless and ugly in this culture; Georgie Peorgie is just the latest target. From my perspective, this couldn't happen to a nicer propagandist. If that makes sense...
