1. Was it James Taylor?
I didn't get a good look, but it sounded like him to me.

2. James Taylor, I think
got home from Browns game just in time to see the first batter of the game and thought that McCarver/Buck talked later in the game about JT. Not positive though-I havethis gift ya see-I can be staring at the game, any game, and completely ignore the announcers w/o muting the tv-refined this talent in the 70's during the Cosell era

3. Donna Summer sang "God Bless America" during 7th stretch.
Bring back "Take Me Out To the Ballgame"! God Bless America is a religious song and has no place in a diverse USA. First sung when Dubya attended the first NY Yankees game after 9/11. Enough of using 9/11 for political/religious ends.

5. Wasn't she "born again" as of sometime after her disco hey-day?
I think she got very religious, at least for awhile.

I thought the anthem sounde dpretty good as well. It got better near the end with some chord changes he made (I think). Overall, I think another anthem would be better; something easier for most people to sing.

6. It's NOT a religious song - it's a third-rate Broadway showtune...

...and I hate it! x(

The original version of "God Bless America" was written by Irving Berlin (1888-1989) during the summer of 1918 at Camp Upton, located in Yaphank, Long Island, for his Ziegfeld-style revue, "Yip, Yip, Yaphank." :eyes: http://www.loc.gov/exhibits/treasures/trm019.html

7. I thought so, too
I thought it was the best rendition of the national anthem that I'd ever heard.
