A couple of months ago, we adopted Max (thanks for your help with my apprehension, SoCalDem). Since then, he has brought a lot of fun and happiness to our home and our dog Ellie. I am not a cat person but I really love this little guy. Changed my mind completely. :hug:

Isn't it amazing how cats can convert dog people? I grew up with dogs but my life has been ruled by cats for the last 20 years!

he's so smart too - for some reason I thought cats weren't smart (inexperience on my part). I had been keeping him in my bathroom at night at least while he was little. Well, he's let me know he doesn't need to be in there anymore. Figured out how to get the door open by jumping and pulling down on the handle. I couldn't believe it.

3. I have no idea why people think you can only love one or the other.

I have cats. I adore dogs. My neighbor's dog and I have a thing.

he's grown so much too. Only 1 1/2 lb. when we adopted him. He eats like crazy.

6. I always tell people who say they hate cats

that you wouldn't if you got one. I was always a dog person but a cat at work had kittens and everybody was trying to get us all to take one. I reluctantly took one and now have 4. They are fun and not half the trouble that dogs are. I have 2 dogs too. Your little kittie is a cutie.

I was like you. Not a kitty person at all. I always believed they were aloof, unaffectionate, etc. Now I have 5 of them, 3 of which are rescues. I have a dog too! I love all my kids. Hope you have many happy years with Max. He is a cutie!
