So I Just Saw 'The Grudge'
Man, what an absolutely F*ed UP movie this is!

Creepy as all hell. Like 'The Ring' on steroids.

Little boys with black eyes.
Women with their jaws hanging down to their chests and tongues the size of footballs.

Creepy.
Creepy.
Creepy.

The entire theater was jumping at this film. I've never seen a horror movie that got this type of response before.

Scared the bejeezus out of me. My girlfriend couldn't have watched more than 5 minutes of it. She had her head buried in my shoulder the entire time.

I HIGHLY recommend this movie if you're looking to be creeped out for an hour and a half - non stop.

It has elements of The Exorcist, The Ring, and a whole bunch of other make-you-pee-your-pants movies. And it's not shot in a typical Hollywood style. Lots of jumping back-and-forth in time.

Really well made movie. Definately check this out in the theater.

:scared: :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared:

1. My only hesitation for this is Sarah Michelle Gellar
I've never enjoyed her acting.

I would rather see Ju-on first though.

2. she's not that bad
I mean, it's not like the movie revolves around her anyway. She's just in the film to draw American audiences and she doesn't detract from the film at all.

She doesn't necessarily add anything either, but the point is the movie is perfectly fine with her in the role she played. She was just one of the characters in it, and most of the really scary scenes take place without her.

3. The original, Ju-On, is great
I don't understand why they have to do American remakes instead of just releasing the orginal version here.

5. Ditto
But at least this time around, it's the same director for both the original and the remake.

I just saw that "Shall We Dance" has been made into an American-version now as well.

4. The great accomplishment of Japanese horror cinema
is the claustrophobic dread. Nobody does it better.

Here's a very creepy something I saw a few weeks ago on DVD: Uzumaki (Spiral)
http://www.mandiapple.com/snowblood/uzumaki.htm

The most dread-ful I've seen is Tetsuo (The Iron Man)

Thanks for The Grudge review.

9. Tetsuo:The Iron Man
Probably the most fucked up movie I've ever had the joy of watching. It makes Eraserhead look like a Pixar movie :)
