7. Ahhh...
I worked on St. Elmo's - in fact it was a break though of sorts for me.
It took a long time to rig those safety lines on the roof and the director (Joel Schumacher, who I learned to love, by the time we did Lost Boys)started yelling about "time". We'd lost a stunt man on another show about a week earlier - all of a sudden, in one voice, the crew asked "Want another Ron Randell?" There was utter silence in the cold night air. Crews don't question directors. We got the scene done and broke for "lunch" about midnight. When we came back for the next setup, Joel apologized for his 'misplaced priorities'. I never turned down a chance to work with him again.

At the risk of boring you all, I'll also say that I kept telling the guys I was working with in props, that Demi was gonna be a star. It was clear that the camera loved her. The guys hated her. But then, they weren't too damned fond of me either. I was only there because of that commie equal whatever the hell it was called. Warner's used me as their poster girl.
