Ray Charles tribute on CBS
Really good so far, except someone let Bruce Willis play harmonica.

Reminds me of Rolling Stone's review of Willis' ill-advised album back in the 80s. First words: "Bruce Willis doesn't play harmonica any worse than, say, Danny Partridge played bass..."

1. Thankfully he let BB King take the lead
on that tune with very little interference. As a big BB fan, I am glad I caught it flipping through the channels. :-)

6. Quite a few clips on tonight's show
which is structured as sort of an infomercial for the film - for example, Jamie Foxx is hosting.

3. And of course his first platinum album is posthumous.
Even Laura Branigan and Rick James CDs have had sales spikes.

What is it about recently-departed artists and mass appeal?

5. It started with those Jim Croce ads after he died in the plane crash...
"Don't miss out on the greatest artist of our lifetime....all the fantastic hits from 'time in a Bottle' to 'Operator'"
