Yes, he really is that dumb.

They call him the mechanic, because he's been good about maintenance issues like trash collection, fixing potholes, snow plowing in winter (a non-trivial matter the last few years), etc.

Also, as Mrs. Squeech continually insists when I go off on Hizzoner, he's an uncommonly decent and guileless fellow.

But I think the charm has worn off, and he'd be *really* vulnerable to a strong challenge.

But on the other hand, the likeliest place for a strong challenger to come from would be the redder necked precincts-- Finneran's and Bulger's turf-- which would arguably be worse.

Yes. Our mayor, a tried-and-true Democrat, really is a dumbass. I just wish the Democrats would allow someone to run against him in the next election.

His incompetency was never more evident than in the months and weeks leading up to the Democratic National Convention. The Party had to step in to clean up the mess he'd made of labor negotiations with public safety unions.

In the interests of party unity and a smooth convention, Kerry was left with no choice but to make Menino look like a complete asshole.

That's not hard to do.
