Help DUer's - I can't talk - makes it hard to answer the phone
at work!

In the beginning of the week I had a head cold and my sinuses were all messed up. Yesterday, the congestion seemed to be breaking up, but my throat started to be scratching and swallowing a little painful.

Today, I have no voice, I have a dry throat and a dry hack.

Any advice? What do I do, this is most uncomfortable and I do have to answer the phone at work.

1. You sound too sick to be at work
Is it possible to take the day off?

3. I had to get some papers together for the boss to go to Court
I know when he gets back, he will tell me to leave. He already told me to let the calls go to voice mail.

I just wish I could get my voice back. Its more uncomfortable than it is painful.

or if you can get to the store try a tea called "Throat Coat" It works every time for me.

I also suggest that you eat something from the cabbage family today, pass the virus from you.

5. That sounds wonderful!
Isn't it amazing how a stuffed up head makes it hard for one to think clearly.

Thanks for the suggestion!

4. Get one of those inexpensive digital memo recorders.
Have a coworker explain into it your vocal problems, so you wont have to do THAT part during each phone call.

Maybe include your work email address, incase there are more complex issues to deal with.

6. Home Remedy
Go home first this is most definately a "HOME" remedy. My Granny used to swear by it. One shot of whiskey, mix in a squeeze of lemon, and a TBSP of honey. Repeat as needed and alternate each dose with tea. I don't know if it works but the whiskey may make you forget about the pain!!

Now Seriously GO HOME! Don't infect your co-workers to prove loyalty.

Once the boss gets back from court, I will leave.
