You are in the top 0,001% richest people in the world.

Do some good with any extra you might have, International Red Cross, Amnesty International, AIDS Action Committee, Planned Parenthood, DNC, MoveOn, FACTNet, and your preferred candidate can all use your help! And while you are at it buy yourself a treat, you probably deserve it.

5. Interesting factoid: the world's average ANNUAL wage is $869
Use that next time some idiot tells you his tax cuts will result in an average of $1,000 per family.

I am also in the top 0,001% richest people in the world.
You don¹t need to know any more than that (and besides our calculator can't do sums that big).
Please consider donating just a small amount of your enormous wealth to help some of the poorest people in the world. Many of their lives could be improved dramatically or even saved if you donate just one hour's salary (approx $694444.44)

11. Didn't work for me
Of course, it could be because I've disabled Java script so as to eliminate those annoying pop-up ads, but I prefer to think it's some sort of global conspiracy directed at me personally.

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you!

17. Wow! I feel so much better!
My husband and I make a paltry $23,000 a year and that is enough to put us into the top 5.99%! Even though it is taking the whole world into account, somehow I don't feel so bad. I guess it could always be worse.

25. 508,714,653...or so they think, but they're wrong!
Unfortunately, their methodology is a bit biased. They even mention it: X many billions of people live on less than $2/day. Well, so what? What does $2 US buy in terms of the local currency and buying power? Flawed economics, man... As I keep trying to explain to people who are allegedly smarter than I am, exchange rates don't count UNLESS (and ONLY unless) you're talking about transborder currency transactions, which in this case, you're not.

For example: I make $24 800/a. In US$ terms, that's $18 400, approximately. However, in terms of buying power, in most places (or in places where the cost-of-living is similar to my home town), my salary is worth at least as much or more (than $24 800) in Canadian dollars spent in Canada as it would be if it were US dollars spent in the US. My dollars buy me as much or more at home than someone else's equivalent number of US dollars would buy them in the US, and so on.

This mis-application of exchange rates (notice that you enter your salary ONLY in US$ or UK pounds) skews the average in favour of your being rich, even when you are not. A more accurate way of doing this would be to index your income in the local currency to the local cost-of-living, but that would take work, and would also give a much more accurate perspective, which is precisely what a charity trying to shame you (the newly allegedly rich) into giving them money.

Critical thinking, folks...don't believe the hype.
