Pearl Jam in Concert - What an adventure
Talk about an adventure in concert going! We had this great night planned at the Pearl Jam concert tonight at the Tweeter Center in Camden NJ which included some tailgating before the concert. The night which was perfectly planned went absolutely the opposite direction.

First, the people who were driving took the one way you should never drive on a sunday evening during the summer in Delaware. Traffic coming home from the shore is a bitch and they were running 45 minutes late because of beach traffic (she lives 30 minutes from me).

I had gotten home from the shore earlier that day and was half tempted to drive myself because I was still recovering from my own car sickness. But because we were tailgating, my friend with an old 88 Ford Bronco drove instead. And the car died right along 95 North just south of the Philly airport. Already running late for the concert (opening act started at 7:30), while the men figured out what was wrong with the car, the women setup a picnic right in front of the exit sign for 9a on 95N. The one girl called her brother and he came and got us. So instead of burgers on the grill we had cheese sandwiches and all the other stuff we could eat at room temperature. We sat on a picnic blanket having a picnic and watching the traffic on 95.

But we were able to get to the concert (missed the first 20 minutes of Pearl Jam), but it was worth EVERY penny I spent on the ticket. In the middle of the song Ocean, Eddie Vedder put on his George W. Bush mask. Then he put the mask on a mic stand and broke out into War (what is it good for). Sure, I heard a few boos, but overwhelmingly folks were singing along and cheering as Pearl Jam sang his anti-war protest part of the concert.

Great concert, must attend if you can get a chance!!!

Sorry about all the trouble you went through to get there, but I am VERY glad it was worth it.

Still one of the very best.
