Should Mr, Moonbeam and I get divorced to protest the fact that
our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters can't get married?

We'd still live together, love each other, everything else would be the same. Think we could talk other married heteros into it?

I AM being tongue in cheek before anyone freaks out, but we have actually batted it around in a philosophical way, as a protest.

Problem is, it wouldn't help our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters would it?

I am curious to know what ya'll think though...kind of a backlash against all this "DEFENDING MARRIAGE" and "PROTECTING MARRIAGE" bullshit. My marriage don't need any defendin' or protectin'.

We could form a group of heteros called "Heteros for destroying marriage!"

Or "WHY NOT LET THEM BE MISERABLE LIKE THE REST OF US?"

What do you think?

1. "WHY NOT LET THEM BE MISERABLE LIKE THE REST OF US?"
I like that as a sign.I think the best thing you can do is just be a voice letting others know and see that gay marriage isn't going to destroy anything.

2. We already do that. A lot.
In fact, we have actually convinced quite a few people of it. We are in a movie called "Flowers from the Heartland" this guy from LA did to document all the outpouring of joy and love that went on during the gay marriages last spring.

Yeah, I like that as a sign.

6. Plenty of heteros batter the sanctity
of marriage every day. Aren't there plenty of heteros cheating and divorcing already? No need to protest by rendering asunder what God has put together with you and Mr. Moonbeam. Just emphasize the statistics -- the sanctity of man-woman marriage is being attacked from within. Huge numbers of heteros exhibit a profound lack of respect for this institution as it now exists (both civilly and religiously), and this problem is not caused or exacerbated by gays wanting to visit their partners in hospitals.

7. You could move here to MA
where our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters can marry :D. I think any attempt to defend the sanctity of marriage should start with JLo.

8. Interesting....
Give up health care too? Advocacy is so much better than protest. Look what happened when less tha 2% of the electorate cast protest vores in Y2K.
