I just flossed my teeth and now I'm depressed!!!!!!!!
I ran out and went searching for more, and came across the package my aunt had while she was in a nursing home a couple years ago. She wrote her name on everything!

Then, after my aunt died, it somehow got passed to my mother last year when she went into a nursing home, but for various reasons, not much was used. So when I was cleaning out her room after she died I decided to keep this (among other things). It's still got about 100 yards on it--it was a big package, so I'll have it for a while. Hell, lots of things remind me of stuff like this, so I might as well just keep on using it!

1. Aww

My grandfather hated ketchup, and so they never kept any in the house, but he always saved the ketchup packets he got so I would have ketchup when I visited. He was such a thoughtful, caring person and always did little things like that. The first time we had dinner at my grandma's after he died, I remember using the last of the ketchup packets he saved and feeling so sad. This was many years ago, and I still think of him whenever I use ketchup packs.

3. It is.
I haven't used any packets in awhile, so now I'm all misty eyed. I'm sorry about your aunt.

4. Yeah, there was a thread on

Mairzy doats today. Our dog suffered sunstroke and some other major problems simultaneously a number of years ago, and could barely move for 2 weeks. I slept outside with him, keeping him cool, talking to him, singing to him... he especially seemed to like Mairzy doats. He died in July, and I sang Mairzy doats to him while burying him, and on a few of the visits to his grave before we had to move. Just seeing that thread today made me get all emotional and teary-eyed - and the same thing is happening right now.

joeybee12, Pithlet, I empathize :(

5. I still have my mom's last dental floss
and she died 20 October 1981. My brother gave up going to one of the first Rolling Stones' 'Fairwell' tours, a couple of days before.
It's POH. I use Minty Dental tape.

7. What I know I'll keep of my Mom (the dental floss will get used, although
I might keep the package) are these pictures of cats she used to tear out of magazines and put on her wall in her room. She had Alzheimer's, and thought this was her new home (on her good days she did, on really bad days, she didn't know where she was and was quite upset). Anyway, she really thought she was quite the interior decorator and would show them to everyone! Kind of funny, kind of sad. I gave her greeting cards with cats on them to put up there also.
