Man Pours Gas Down Toilet, Causing Blast
SALT LAKE CITY - If you can't stand the heat, don't pour gasoline down the toilet. An apartment tenant made that $75,000 mistake Tuesday.

The man came home for lunch and found gas leaking from the tank of his car. He caught the gas, and decided to dispose of it by dumping it down the toilet.

But the pilot light of a water heater ignited the fumes, causing a small explosion. The blast destroyed the porcelain toilet, and the intense heat from the flames melted the remaining pieces.

The man and three other people were able to get out of the home before the fire spread.

2. That's actually pretty funny.
As long as it's somebody else's toilet.

4. Why would he dispose of it?
Shoot, at the price it is now, I'd put it in my other car if I had one, or if I really just had to get rid of it I'd just let it evaporate - it doesn't really take that long.

5. Since when is the toilet connected to the heater?
I would think that flushing gas wouldn't bring it into contact with fire.

7. Many sewage lines have vents
That let noxious fumes out, and also relieve gas pressure(human waste produces lots of methane gas). Vent was improperly placed, or the gas fumes built up and BOOM.

What gets me is this fool was pouring gas into the sewage lines. More idiots polluting our airways. Hell, save the damn stuff and put it in your car, or lawnmower.

9. Does he know the guy who died from his own gas?
Seems like there are risks either way.
