Do you remember your first DELETED post on DU?

2. I've only had one deleted
It was during the primaries. It was a nasty response to someone who was making fun of the way a candidate looks. I don't know what got into to me, but it just rubbed me the wrong way at the time and I went over the edge.

5. No, but I remember several of them.

I had a few during the primaries. I've racked up a few since. Sometimes you just have to tell people where to shove it. I know it's bad, but it feels good.

And I am strongly against the US giving money to Israel.

It seems to be a sensitive topic around here....

10. oh yes
I got into a flame-fest with a piss poor loser of a Sox fan after the Yankees promptly handed them their ass. He had the gall to complain about the Yankees buying their rings :eyes:
They always come crawlin' out from under their rocks when the Yankees beat them.

15. well the guy was pulling "facts" out of his ass
and you know me I hate the yankees but I hate factual inaccuracy even more. I dont know the Dean-Kerry flamewars got pretty bad, though I have to brag here and now, that I was on the Kerry side, yes I was offiiclaly for Kucinich but I prefered Kerry over Dean by a lot, long story short, you have a simliar record to Kennedy, and fight for a wide range of issues, I am gonna like ya :D.

16. I've only had one but I'd like to apologize to anyone who remembers it.
I won't go into it, but I'll admit now that I was both tipsy and sleepy. During primary season especially, that was not a wise state to log on in :scared: .

18. Hell yeah
You can NOT use the word "Black" or "White" on this site of course when referring to a persons skin color/heritage even if it's the farthest thing from bigotry and racism.

I wanted to post the other night (LOL Now watch this be taken down ;) something that I could easily said to my right next-door-neighbors (who are black) and to my Left next-door-neighbors (who are white) and they would have both laughed, nodded and we would have chatted about it...
that White people will riot when they become disenfranchised of their political rights and their vote.
In this special case: Politics & what will happen if the Replundercans try to steal the election.

In fact my right neighbor laughingly has asked me more than once: 'What DO white people riot about?' because she's never seen it LOL
And she's already told me that her brotha's and sista's in Florida are damn sure going to make their vote heard THIS year!

You GO Florida Grrls & Guys! :D

So color isn't allowed, even when it's really not racist at all... even those descriptives are simply not politcally correct.

I guess it can be very difficult for the moderators to arbitrarily decide certain boundaries, deciding when words that represent race could possibly be misconstrued... I can imagine trouble with talking about GLBT too -- and I belong to that group too.
I can jam my thumb in my best friends direction and say "That old dyke is the coolest chickola in the world" and she'll smile, maybe give me a hug and that's it. But SAY that in black and white (hrmmm) type here... oh man you're just asking for a quick deletion!! LOL

The lack of vocal inflection really hurts -- plain words undressed of smiling, caressing tones can be construed quite differently and many times can sound very, very hard.
Even with a dozen smiley emoticons.

I can't say that blame the moderators, but to get a point across (where the skin color of the subject or behind who's typing would actually inform the reader a little more fully on why & what the point is) the verbal contortions one has to go through... LOL Sometimes you twist words around to try to get them through so bad the original meaning is just lost

oh well. Them's the breaks in this modern world.
Someday we'll be able to freely talk about it and it will be liberating :)

19. There must have been some other reason why your post was
deleted. I'm white and I don't mind being referred to as such. I much prefer that to caucasion (sounds like an alien on star trek) or European-American or Anglo or whatever else the pc crowd has come up with. And I've also heard black people refer to themselves on this board as black. I don't understand why it's offensive or bigoted to refer to people in such terms.

22. Dunno
It certainly wasn't full of swear words... like that would be deleted! LOL

Maybe mod. felt that an answer could be posted taht was insulting or encouraged to be? Maybe mod. felt you don't really need to know a persons skin color in this type of venue -- we're all the same here, letters on a white-to-greyish background.

Just dunno.

20. I've only had one deleted, ever
Despite spending the majority of my time on DU in the most contentious forum, Israel/Palestine, I got my only post deleted on a thread in The Lounge about a dog adopting a fawn. Some guy made a crack about venison and I lost my temper, attacking the messenger, instead of the message, a rule I certainly know from I/P. I guess animal issues are my flash point. I felt really, really stupid.:silly:

21. Never, Never, Never, but....
Back in the DU-I days entire deleted threads were common, and as a result all post counts credits were docked from everyone who had posted on the thread. As a newbie, I would cry because my post count would go backwards! It was depressing to see my whopping post count of, say 22, drop back a couple of numbers because some jerk would disrupt so badly the moderators just sent the thread into the memory hole.

23. Yes, i remember
I had to think about it a minute, but it had something to do with drowning Lieberman, or some sort of damage and destruction having to do with Lieberman. The other one I had deleted was one growling at a Nader supporter, I believe.
