Happy Birthday SRV!
On this date in 1953 a young man was born in Dallas, Texas to Big Jim and Martha Vaughan who would go on to change the musical world. I am, of course, talking about Stevie Ray Vaughan. A terrible tragedy in 1990 robbed the world of this man's musical genius but he will never be forgotten. Stevie Ray beat a serious drug and alcohol addiction, spread joy throughout the world, and just loved to play the music we call Blues. I still miss him. I was fortunate enough to be at SRV's last jam in Alpine Valley, WI and it was unforgettable. Stevie, Buddy Guy, Robert Cray, Jimmie Vaughan, and Eric Clapton closed an incredible night of Blues music with "Sweet Home Chicago" and the aforementioned gentlemen were looking at SRV with something approaching awe. He was that good. Long live SRV through his music.

1. I love Stevie Ray.
One of the most inspired guitar players ever. He played with a constant intensity that is unmatched by anybody except maybe Jimi Hendrix.
