Ever notice chat room people come in patterns?
Like you go from one to the other and you see almost like "doppelgangers" of people you've seen on the other one?

Like there'll be some middle-aged married woman who'll flirt with twenty-something guys, and you wonder who their husband is because they barely get mentioned and it seems like a lot of time is spent away from them.

Or there's a young woman who likes to act like they're all that, but they really don't have many friends if at all in real life. It's like they're sitting around waiting for their life to finally be satisfactory enough for them to stop hanging around the chat room.

Or the guy that takes logic and arguing way too seriously...like they get a little bit too upset if you throw some levity into what they think is a serious discussion.

Any more?

You'd be surprised!
I went from the local chat room on Undernet, to the one on EFnet, and you see history repeating itself. It's weird.

4. Ha...I used to think about this stuff a lot.
About how Internet culture reinforces certain habits in certain people and attracts certain people, and now I've been thinking about it again a lot.

5. Yep, I have seen that too
It goes way, way back to the pre-commercial internet days of BBSes too.

Same kind of "personalities" almost as bad as central casting in old movies.
