I've noticed that when I respond to posts or directly to posters nobody posts back, most times they jump over my post to write to someone down the line.

Not every time, some very nice DU members have said hello to me.

I'm just wondering why I get ignored by so many.

Is make people mad. Not that I'd recommend it, since you can be reprimanded if you are seen as flame baiting, but there have been a few times where I've inadvertently posted something that got a lot of folks really worked up here. WOW - talk about responses! It does go to show that there are a lot of fiery activists on guard here, though.

...broke a 100 replies and was put on the homepage. It seemed like everyone else and me just laughed and laughed and laughed!

Well, now that I think about it, mostly just they laughed, and I was wonderin' what in tarnation was so funny. "Big City" humor, I guess.

On the other hand, there were plenty of times when nuthin' happened. Just yesterday, I put a little bit of work into a thread called "and now, a debate in CAPTIONS," and hardly anyone even noticed it.

Ya cain't really tell what'll be a "hit" and what won't. I have enough fun just being here for it not to matter that much, though.
