Poll question: Book poll: do you enjoy fiction or non-fiction more?
I read legal thrillers, novels, and suspense the most, so I'm going to say fiction. Though I also enjoy non-fiction (political books especially) and should read more of it.
Even though I read non-fiction books (mostly political), the vast majority of my reading time is spent with novels. I have a highly active imagination that demands 24/7 stimulus--which is why read fantasy, SF and horror almost exclusively. I really hate mundane fiction.
I have a very active imagination and daydream a lot actually. I usually read Horror/thrillers, Sci-Fi and Fantasy. I do read some non-fiction books, but that is usually when I am trying to learn about something.
I am both analytical/logical and creative/emotional so both appeal to me on different levels. Sometimes non fiction does appeal to me on an emotional level but usually I buy fiction for that purpose and non fiction for my more logical side.
And sometimes the two are blurred. That's why I have an other option. Right now, I'm reading Mary Higgins Clark's Mount Vernon Love Story (my boycott isn't in effect for this book because I already had it.) Mount Vernon Love Story is classified as fiction, but is based on actual events.
