Update on my mom...

Original thread Here. She's taking a turn for the worse. According to her Doctor and the nursing home, she can slip into a coma at any time.

I'm not ready for her to go yet. :cry: :cry: :cry:

Is she nearby? As painful and horrible as it is, there is also some beauty in being there. I hope, for both your sakes, that you can provide some comfort to her.

the nursing home is about a mile from me. I'll be spending most of my days there.

even little things you can provide can make you both feel better. Massage her hands and feet. Put cool towels on her forehead. Talk to her, sing to her, read to her. Make sure she's getting proper pain relief. Bring a portable CD player and play her favorite music. Tell her jokes and talk to her about happy memories. Just love her.

Be sure to get hospice involved - they're the closest thing to angels we have on this planet.

I am so sorry. This is always such a hard time but if you can be with her you can help her make the transition with love. You will never regret it.
