Just a little black bear. He was waddling up the road, saw me and ran across, I stopped the car to look at him, he bolted and squeezed his fat black ass through a seemingly tiny whole in a fence, jiggling all the way.

Bears are cool.

7. Neat!
I'm just a city boy myself, but I've seen bears (the black variety) a couple of times...
Once while rafting down the Rogue River, we went around a bend and a young bear was crossing the river...by the time I got my camera, he was already on the bank and commenced racing down the trail...It was very quick, but I caught a pic of it and here it is...The bear is the little dot under the second tree on the right...

Driving down this high alpine trail...I saw this huge brown bear head pop up off the side of the road and run across the road. He sat on the bank and looked at me for a moment.

He looked just like a grizzly but I though "Nah there are none in the Okanagan."
I was telling the story to the local wildlife officer and he said at the elevation I was at, coupled with the fact they were re-introducing them to the area, AND the description - I saw a grizzly. Neat eh? It was a little one though, I 'd like to see a big SOB like the ones up on the Northwest coast of BC

One of these buggers!

9. you see more bears than anyone!
I live in Pa. and I have never seen a bear outside of the zoo. My husb's family used to have a cabin in the woods and he has. I am not sure I would want to see one up too close.

12. Just don't get near one of yer polar bears
even in a car.

If they take exception to you, they'll rip off yer tires.

Assuming they don't go for the door first.

14. Yup, I love polar bears
But you have to respect them as the force of nature they are.

Ten feet tall...you don't get lippy with them. :D
