Well. 3/4 of them. Joe Walsh wasn't there. But Don Henley was the headliner and he brought Glenn Frey and Timothy B. Schmidt with him. When he sang the End of The Innocence, he took a couple of swipes at the Bush administration. Instead of saying "tired old man who we elected king", he said "rich old man who we elected king". Also instead of saying "since daddy had to lie", he said "since Cheney had to lie." He dedicated "Dirty Laundry" to Rupert Murdoch. This was a fundraiser for Ken Salazar. I got the ticket for free because I work on the campaign. It was quite fun.

1. No Joe?
That doesn't sound like fun.

Regardless it's good to see that Bush can't fool Texans like Henley and the Dixie Chicks.

2. Cool report
Thanks for sharing.

It's so heartening to see our "entertainers" speaking out.

So ironic it was the brave Dixie Chicks that led the way.

3. I knew that Henley was never a fan of Bush.
Henley is a big environmentalist and dislikes Bush because he is weak on the environment among other things. In a 2000 Rolling Stone interview, he was asked how he felt about the prospect of President George W. Bush and he said "Horrified". He then had a laundry list of reasons why.

4. Awesome!
I saw them on the "Hell Freezes Over" tour eight (already?) years ago. Believe it or not, I went with my mom. We both had a great time, and they put on a great show.

Henley/Frey are/were the creative nexus of the group, so as long as they're there, you know you're going to get a good show. Walsh, while quite good himself, is not a founding member (he replaced Don Felder) and has his own thing going on.

But then again, Tim Schmidt's not a founder, either, but he did write "I Can't Tell You Why".... :)

5. Joe Walsh gave us "In the City".
He also gave us the main riff from "Life in the Fast Lane".
