the folks that disagree with me or that I don't agree with. It's stalkers with an agenda that feels really personal. They creep me out. I give them some time to lay off but when they don't give up I put em on the list.

I used to get a lot of freeper attention early on because of the SF thing. I think some of them were just homophobes. Now that the site has grown it's not so much a problem.

You can tell when it's personal, the name caller isn't even trying to understand your point of view.

Personal attacks make me uncomfortable. When it happens to me or other posters. I've put people on ignore for going after other DU'ers too.

We know when we're being singled out in a personal way. The trouble is that it is hard to prove. Mods don't always catch it, because the only way to see it is to follow the posts of the stalker for some time and see the pattern.

This site is the best I've ever been on in terms of avoiding personal attacks, at least from what I've seen. I think it's because it moves so fast and the mods are very good and on duty 24/7.

Meet a lot of nice people that way. I have a garden - actually a yard - hence my handle yardwork. I've been working on a meadow garden along the northeast corner of the house - tough spot. Poor drainage, no sun in winter, blasting heat in summer. It's been a real challenge.

I also have a strip along the driveway that gets a fair amount of sun but must struggle with pine roots, pine needles, pine acid, and my neighobor's propensity to bathe their lawn in chemicals every week.

We also have a tiny water garden we made for some tadpoles my son brought home. Our "water feature." heh heh.
