So what is this "DSO Exploit" that keeps popping up on my wife's PC?
She ran Spybot and Search and Destroy and switched from IE to Mozilla, but this DSO Exploit thing keeps popping up.

Anybody know what that is?

Thanks in advance.

5. I had this nasty trojan called startpg-somethingorother
that my son picked up when he discovered internet porn. It reset my home page to about:blank and put some very nasty links on my favorites menu. (That's how I discovered the porn surfing.)

None of the free stuff I tried got rid of it, so I just lived with it for a few months until I broke down and bought Xoftspy for $39.95. I later found a few message board posts claiming it's spyware, but it got rid of startpg-whatever and a bunch of other stuff, and I think it's awesome. Very easy to purchase and use. It's supposed to get rid of DSO Exploit as well.

6. Go Here:
Link: http://www.nsclean.com/dsostop.html

Download and run the tool. This will close the security hole.

But... it will continue to show up in SpyBot. Therefore, after you run the tool TWICE to make sure it has done its job, you need to go into the Advanced Settings of SpyBot (in MODE drop down), look for Settings at the bottom left, click and go to Ignore Products, click and find and check DSO Exploit. Get back out of Advanced Mode, and run to see if it worked.

Works for me.

:hi:
